Monroe County Votes for Animals is a grassroots, nonpartisan, unaffiliated and all-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting laws that are beneficial to animals.
We lead a voting bloc (an organized group of voters who care about a particular issue) of Monroe County, N.Y. residents who care about animals and would like to hear our endorsements. We work to promote animal-friendly legislation and stop legislation that hurts animals. We currently focus on our local government: Monroe County, its towns, and the city of Rochester.
When you sign up for our bloc, we tell your representatives that you are concerned about animals and will be hearing our endorsements and updates about whether they are supporting animal-friendly proposals. We’ll work with them to promote good legislation, and together our bloc will support helpful legislators at election time.
“The quickest way to effect change is to get as deep into lawmaking and political process as possible through political advocacy organizations. I feel strongly that animal advocates have got to get politically organized…” – Paul R. Leonard, founder of the National Center for Animal Law and Advocacy.
